Balance

One thing I’ve learned
as I’ve grown up:
for there to be good in the world,
there must always be evil.

There must be a balance.

The darkness must exist
to balance out the light.
This, then,
is the only reason for
Duke University,
the home of the (blue) devil,
to exist:
to balance out
that southern part of heaven,
Chapel Hill.
